Is it best to mix your protein shake right before you drink it, or can you make a double batch say and have half of it in the morning, and the rest of it later in the day?
Does it lose anything sitting in liquid form? Thanks!

I have never read any research anywhere that suggests protein made in advance goes bad. I do this all the time. At least I know what is in it, because I made it. Now, I NEVER by the premade shakes they sell in stores, not knowing what is in them and really how old they are. I make it a habit to try and consume mine as close to mixing as possible, but this is just for personal reasons. Just don't add creatine to them. It destabilizes quickly and turns to a waste product.

Great, I was hoping that. Then I can make my shakes in the morning and leave the powder mix at home. Thanks

Protein and milk goes bad in a 12 hour period. The taste degrades too but the taste right after mixing, oh man...it's fantastic.

Yeah, you are right...I was assuming that they were mixed in water. With water, I see no problem.

I mix my whey protein with milk, and i saved half of it for later in the fridge when it was mixed, and it went solid, like a thick mousse, i was thinking of eating it like one but i added a little more milk, mixed it around again and it was fine

Well, I usually freeze mine, or another great option is to make a "pudding".You can put this in a small tuppreware bowl and take it anywhere, and the nice thing is it won't spill! Also a nice break from the drinks, kind of like eating something. Can be more fulfilling.

Just found this Q&A on Myopley shakes from EAS. Q: After I have mixed my Myoplex nutrition shake, for how long will it retain its' potency?
A: As long as your nutrition shake is not heated, the Myoplex nutrition shake should retain its' potency for up to 8 hours.
Others may have a different time frame but I would estimate most shakes are around this time.
