:) I am going to change my habits. I'm a 40 yr old male with high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes(pills),weigh 189lbs,i'm 5'4" and gained 30 lbs since moving from NY to Houston(fattest city?).I guess it's so convenient to eat out here in houston compared to NY(Walked everywhere).

Based on my height, what should i weigh?

It's hard to answer that question because it depends on your goals. If you gain mass and lose fat, you might weigh between 140-160. But I guarantee you the BP will go down within 3-4 weeks after you exercise and start eating right, and also the diabetes will see an improvement.
You will start to feel better within 5-7 days.
It's the inches that count and not the weight. Forget the scale.
Good luck and glad to have you here as a member.

Hi Rob6465,
I'm new on ft too but, I've lived in Houston for many years. This is one FAT city. Eating out is a way of life and I've been working very hard to change my attitude towards that life style. It's certainly possible to be healthy and eat out. It's all about the choices you make!!! While the city has its share of overweight residents, not everyone is loaded up on the fat while eating out!

Kudos to you for wanting to change habits. A marvelous goal!!

Good Luck & let me know how it goes!
Christy :)
