Hey everyone,

I just found this site and I am really excited. I was a college athlete and now a year after leaving school, I have gained about 25 pounds of fat and my lean mass is pretty much gone  (except for the killer soccer calves!). In any event, I am starting my first "real" job on Monday and I am trying to get healthy, take off the weight (160 goal weight), and making some lifestyle changes. It's just time for this 22 year old, to get my life on track. I feel great on the inside, now I need to look great on the outside. The biggest struggle for me has been not keeping to a food plan. But I have been doing good for the last two weeks, and I have no plan to stop now that the hard part is over. The biggest obstacle of my future is that my new job requires nearly 100% travel. So if anyone can share their experiences please let me know. Also, my ft program said I should be eating 2655 k/cals a day. That seems really high to me, as I have been only eating about 1500-1800 low carb, high protein for the last 2 weeks. Any suggestions? Thanks for making this site possible.

Welcome to FT Brie! The nutritional guide is just that...a general guide. If you know what your maintenance calories are, then you are way ahead of the ballgame. Once you incorporate an exercise routine, you will use your maintenance calories to control your diet moving forward...making adjustments to get you on target.

Good luck and feel free to ask us anything...
