I was curious as to how many of you have a diary and write down your workout and measurmets, ETC. I am going to start one and write down my workout that I do, the reps and sets and weight of each lift. Then write how good of a lift in was, intesity wise that is, and write down how sore I am the next day. I will also take measurments once a week.

What else is there to write down that i could be forgetting?

I write down all that after each excercise.
I walk around the gym with my routine on a clip board and mark reps and weight.
I graph my progress in excel and wow, amazing what you see.
I also record my cardio. mph-time distance calories and heart rate.
I also record measurments 1x per mth.

Yes how good the work out was but more important how YOU felt about each exercise or work out.

And the diet of course.

It takes a little time but you'll see, it's such a great help and you'll understand things a lot better. Your gains will be ten times better as well.

I have a diary for my workouts and diet for probably 2 years now. I used to laugh at people who did that, till I started leaving the gym and thinking, damn, I forgot to do this, or that. I also now have a reference to always try to advance from. Each workout for a certain body part, I always try to progress in some way. Whether it is one more rep, or 5lbs., or something, I never do less this way. Plus my diet is always there for me to look at, and if i need a change, it is easy to make.

Yeah I like it because I always can see what i did last time at a certain excercise. So then it is like a game and i cant get less than my last time. It just keeps pushing me harder and harder, this creates the intensity I have been trying to find. Never thought it would mean so much.

Yup, think of it as school.....
once youve passed gr7 you don't want to go back to gr6.
Think of the poundage that way,, and also when you change your routine you might take note that you like one routine imparticular.
