Ok, so there is a thread for little victories, I thought maybe we should have a thread for little flub-ups to remind each other that we are human? That we can make mistakes and pick up and press on?
Hubby and I went on a date friday night and went to a fondue restaurant. I chowed on cheese dip and bread, and salad (but not the healthy type) and steak and chicken and veggies, and bananas/strawberries/brownies all dipped in flambe'd white chocolate. It was AMAZING!!! So, I just worked out a little extra on Saturday to make myself feel better. |

I shattered my finger back in March, had surgery on it the next week, and began training again 4 days later. Does that count?
As for dietary boo-boos... I'm bulking so I eat what I want to. I usually keep it clean, but I make exceptions about once every 2 months when it comes to chicken wings. -------------- --JBennett "I've up-ed my intensity.... now up yours!" I'm in the process of renovating our new home/old boat. Carrying a couple of sheets of pre-cut, pre -finished cherry plywood down the dock, I was dealing with a really stiff wind . I had the plywood angled just right as I walked to the boat. When I stepped from the dock to the swim platform the wind shifted, picked me and the plywood up and dropped us both into the Ashley river. Did I mention the Ashley has a 6 mile an hour current? For you landlubbers, thats real FAST.
I had a good grip on my panels and I can swim like a fish.Like any fish though it's difficult to get from water to the dock while holding on to $300 worth of building materials. I yelled for help and as luck would have it the only help around was Dick. Dick is a 79 year old drunken fisherman on the boat next door. Went like this. Charlie: HELP DICK Dick: HUH? Charlie: DICK, I'M IN THE WATER Dick: WHERE ARE YOU? Charlie: I'M IN THE WATER Dick: WHERE??? {I'm 6 feet away} Charlie: I'M RIGHT BESIDE YOU DICK, LOOK DOWN. Dick: WHO ARE YOU? Charlie: Dick, It's Charlie, I'm in the water behind my boat. I'm right beside you, look down. Dick: HOLY SHIT CHARLIE, YOU'RE IN THE WATER, IT'S WAY TO COLD FOR THAT. I'LL GET A LIFE RING. Charlie: DICK, PLEASE....Dick please calm down and just pull this wood up on the deck, I'm fine. I just can't fight this current and cold and I can get out on my own. Dick: I'll call 911. Charlie: Dick, I'm fine, just take the plywood. Dick: I'LL GO GET TYSON, HE'LL KNOW WHAT TO DO. Charlie: Dick, the plywood. Dick: BUT YOU'LL DIE!!!! Charlie: DICK, LISTEN TO ME, GET THE FU&*^G PLYWOOD. I crawled up the dock, chased him down, took him on his boat and poored him a double shot of his green label. Dick's fine. He lives telling people on the dock "that crazy ass Charlie would have rather drowned than let go of a couple of sticks. -------------- From aboard MV The Shop Johns Island Charlie | |

I'll have to repeat this one it's a gym flub-up and happened over a year ago!
Women and the nicely shapes of their lower half and as I was on the tricep pulldowns a real good looker walked past me and as I watched her go by the bar slipped out of my hand and came back up and smacked me in the chest and almost got my chin. A lesson was learned to stay focused and watch them walk by after the set is lifted. -------------- Knock-Um Down & Keep-Um Down! |
