It's always nice to have the BIG GOAL, be it to get to 8% bodyfat, lose (blank) number of pounds or whatever BIG GOAL you see and are striving for. But to get there, we all have to overcome the little things. Lately I've been noticing things I haven't been doing and have called them my Little Victories.

Example, yesterday a gal at work made a big ol' batch of cupcakes and brought them here. I did not have one. Victory #1 yesterday. Someone brought donuts, again, I didn't have one. Victory #2.

What are your Small Victories?

I bought some new jeans today and had to get a waist size under 40".

Got under 30% body fat this week.

People are asking me what the secret is.

My trainer at the gym used a bad word when he saw how much I'd lost :)

I have my hand and wrist in a hard cast and wrapped with bandages and tape to protect the finger I had surgery on last week. (Shattered finger playing basketball, now have pins and cadaver bone in there.) It looks like a frickin' oven mitt. Despite the setback, I still made it to the gym 3 times this past week. Squats, box squats, leg extentions and curls, good mornings, seated calf raises, and most ab exercises don't bother my hand so I can get at least some work done...

My biggest little victory is self realization concerning this holiday weekend away. Instead of telling myself that I can make it through without cheating and then ending up on a binge when it doesn't work, I have planned well thought through and decisive cheats.

My trainer told me today that a lot of people have been commenting to him on my progress:)

And NOT eating birthday cake last night :)

Not sure if I'm allowed another little victory post, but I'm so chuffed I'm going to make it anyway!

Went to buy some clothes today and 3 cool things happened.

I bought a jacket because I liked it and it was fashionable rather than because it hid me.

When I was trying on some shirts, I realised I had dropped an X. No more XXL for me! Oh, and my wife said another woman was checking me out.

When I was wearing my new jacket with my shades on my wife said I looked like Tom Cruise in Top Gun, and even more importantly - she meant it!!!

Seriously I was so fired up I went and did 30 mins elliptical and 30 mins bike.

I love the changes in me, and all of you have had a part to play in it.

Great day :)

(Sorry for being so excited!)

I actually had enough strength back to wrestle with my daugher and flip her over the couch and onto me so I could spank her! lol!

Scared the bejesus out of her too...

I didn't have a Pizza Pop like the rest of my family for lunch. I had a can of tuna, mixed with a smidge of mayo, mustard, celery, onion and flax meal, on toast with some cheese. A little better for me than a Pizza Pop.

It's a big, fat, cheese and meat filled dough thing. It's basically pizza topping shoved into a folded over dough wrap. Certainly not the healthiest thing in the world. You bake 'em or microwave them. I knew a guy who deep fried his. Yum.

No candy for me here either, but then again I am not that much of a candy person. :)

Another small victory, I only ate two pieces of ham! That is a huge victory for me as I love Black Forest Ham!

The realization that the three new pair of pants I bought 4 weeks ago are not difficult to button, on the contrary, they are loose -- I hadn't been weighing myself over the past month and so I then went and weighed and realized I had lost 10 pounds, what a hoot!

I totally fell off the wagon this weekend. What started out as my cheat meal turned into two days of pizza and beer. My little victory is I got right back on track Monday, still lost a pound and a 1/4 inch from my waist!

Last September, my goal when I started weight training was to last three months. When I met that, I was able to up the game and last 6 months. This month I hit 8 months and now I have transitioned to free weights. Next goal: 1 year!

1. Two ladies at work told me that I looked pretty! They can't tell if it's the hair, or the make up or if I have lost weight or something, I just look different and very pretty. :)
2. My son had to fill out a questionaire at school about his parents. One question was "what does your mom do in her free time" and he said "goes to the gym".
3. My wedding ring keeps slipping off my finger (good thing as long as I don't lose it!)

Felt soooooo good! She never says much so coming from her that is a lot!

At lunch today, everyone my assistant bought everyone a cookie even though I specifically said, "don't get me one." She sat it in front of me while everyone did the whole, "C'mon! We're all eating cookies!" thing. (I pointed out to them that they sounded like crack dealers trying to get a middle school student hooked.) I did not eat a cookie.

Wow! That is a victory. Someone plopped a piece of cake on my desk a week ago then left (and yes, I said 'No, thank you', but she left it anyway). She called about ten minutes later to find out if I'd 'tried' the cake. I blurted, "I ate the whole damn thing!"...she laughed and said, "Ha ha, I sabotaged you!"

Work is having a food day today. 150 employees contributed, there are 7 food stations set up from sloppy joes, to cookies to taco salads, etc. I was strong enough to stay away from the tables and eat my home packed snacks and lunch. Man, that's tough!!! I'm going walking now while they clean up so I don't have to smell it anymore. It smells SOOOO good!

Thanks ms. I have to post another! It's amazing, this new lifestyle just brings on new positive effects every day! Hubby told me last night that he would like to figure out a schedule so that he can go to the gym and start bulking a little (we have 2 kids and a tight schedule). YAY! He was a hockey player, but a motorcycle accident last fall destroyed his ankle and he won't be able to skate again. It's very encouraging to know that he is taking notice of my victories and wanting to improve his own health. I've sent him the link to this site, I expect him to be signing up soon and joining us on the msg boards. :)
