Hi all. New to the site, just joined a gym and basically is the first time I'll be getting regular excercise.
I'm just wondering how to get started and keep myself motivated. My goals basically are to lose the flab and develop the muscles, to look and feel good.
I'm 23 6ft 4 and weigh-in at about 285 pounds. I've managed to keep a spring in my step an despite having a large build just have the one chin and can still see all of my feet when I look down. My biggest worry is how my weight might fluctuate by loosing fat but putting on muscle. Can anyone help me here?

When I started lifting weights it was the first regular physical activity in my life, and I was 43. I didn't see much weight loss the first year I think because I was developing muscle where there hadn't been much before. My whole body got tighter, but not much of a drop in pounds. I think it was an even trade, muscle for fat. So try to stay away from the scales for the first couple months and take your measurement at the same time every month and record your progress that way. Of course men seem to drop pounds easier than women I think. RW is reight though you should fill out your nutrition and exercise profiles on ft. That will give you a great starting point. Good luck.
