I fractured my wrist in the ulna (I think thats what its called.. its below my pinky) about seven months ago. I fractured it once more time only 12 weeks after the first, and have sprained more times then I can count in the period of 7 months. Fortanetly the fracture is completely healed, but my wrist is still very weak, and sprains easily.

I haven't hurt my wrist in a couple weeks now, and I have started using this cream called MSM which is supposed to help strengthen tendons and prevent future injuries. I have also begun some home therapy on my wrist using a squeeze ball.

What I need to know anyone has any advice on what kind of therapy I can use to recover my wrist faster so I can start lifting again.

Thanks,

The MSM cream should work well just be sure to massage the area when applying it as this will speed up heeling. In addition try taking 2-3 grams of glucosamine sulfate per day the combos with condroitin are expensive & probably not much more effective. In addition avoid any movements that cause discomfort & possible wear a wrist wrap (not a brace) when you have to. I tore a ligament in my wrist a few years back & these are all things that helped tremendously. Of course if the pain persists se a doctor or possible a physical therapist. It may seem like an uneccessary expense but it beats dealing with the pain. & look at it this way if your car breaks you will usually find the money to fix it, so why do any less for your body?

Thanks for the advice. I try to message the area as best as I can, though it feels as if the torn tendon is on the inside of my ulna. But proper stretching and other mild exercises to get the bloody flowing should work as well(i think). The torn ligament has healed enough that wearing a tensor bandage won't do much (I wore one, and a bracer for several months), and I try not to cause any discomfort to the damaged area.

I am going to swing by a health food store to pick up some Glucosamine sulfate. On another note the MSM cream I am using comes with Glucosamine already, but more shouldn't hurt.

Again, thanks for the advice, it will be taken.

I also have broken my wrist before and I know what its like to have a weak wrist. When I would try to bench press a light weight sometimes I would feel a sharp pain in the wrist. Try taking a calcium supplement and hold a light weight in your hand and slowly rotate it as far as you can to the right, then as far as you can to the left and repeat.
