Hello! My name is Michelle. I live in Nebraska, am 32 years old, and my daughter is having her 1st birthday in less than a month. I am 5'6" and 250 lbs. This is the lowest weight I've been since March of 2009 and I've had weight issues for a long, long time. It runs in the family, because bad eating habits run in the family. Well, I want to stop it now with my daughter. I don't want her to have the same problems. So, I'm seeking out help anywhere I can to get to a healthy lifestyle. I need to make that change so that I can teach it to her. The problem is I don't even know where to start! I've never eaten healthy! And I'm an extremely picky eater as well as a vegetarian (in that I don't eat meat - I don't like many vegetables, either). I'm an overweight vegetarian because I eat way too many carbs. Therefore, I refer to myself as a carbivore. How do I eat things I don't like?? Such as broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, etc. - all the stuff that's good for me. I just really need some help!

wow Michelle, you got your first stalker bot!
Welcome to the message boards....I am not sure anyone is still alive here, all the posts I have seen are mostly older.. but since I just joined the site today, maybe we can be buddies, I think you might need protection from desmond!
I have the same problem you do, I have never really tried to eat right... of course I am not a vegatarian, but maybe you should try preparing the different veggies another way, I know I love raw broccoli with ranch dressing and its adkins safe!! yay!
Good luck to you!

Oh. LOL. I didn't even pay attention to whether or not this site was dead or alive. haha I'm not real big into Adkins and I don't mind broccoli I guess if it's not the stem part of it, but wouldn't ranch ruin the "healthy" part of "healthy eating"? LOL. Yeah, maybe Mr. Williams there will pay for my Lap-band. I won't have to wait until next year after all! ha But, I don't even know how to prepare veggies in ANY way! I've never cooked unless you consider making mac n cheese in the microwave cooking! The super hard part is teaching my daughter when the rest of my family doesn't understand healthy living either. This is going to be a huge challenge!! Where are you from?
