I have been lifting weights, doing cardio, sticking mostly to a "protein-low carb" diet...;however, I need to get rid of some flab around my middle aged stomach but it seems when I follow my diet religiously, my muscle mass goes down. True, my waist will be more "toned" but it seems that my arms and chest look smaller. HOW DO I KEEP THIS BALANCING ACT SUCCESSFUL TO BOTH PARTS?
Proper diet...enough protein. As your carbs decrease, the need for protein greatly increases even moreso. And cutting carbs too much is not the answer either. Switching the types of carbs you eat is.
