I have been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome. It has similar symptoms as hypothyroidism (fatigue, weight gain, etc.) My thyroid panels were just on the high side but still considered "normal". From others who have this disorder, I was told that a low carb diet was the most effective for weight loss. I gained about 40 pounds in an 18 month period. Does anyone have any opinions or knowledge about this?
It's not just lowering your carbs, but more-so changing the carbs that you ingest from simple carbs to complex ones. Get a appropriate mixture of protein/carbs/fiberous veggies in your diet.
Best of luck.
