For the women...if you haven't gone through menopause yet and your workouts are leaving you more tired than they should, you may be suffering from an iron dificiency that's not drastic enough to cause anemia but still large emough to sap your energy.
Experts say that one in nine premenopausal women in the US is sufficientyly short of iron to compromise aerobic activity(AJCN 3/25/02).
A study of about 40 women ages 18-33 who were iron deficient but not quite anemic showed that druing six weeks of aerobic training, those who took iron supplements improved their aerobic capacity twice as fast as other women.
So, if your workouts seem to wear you out, have you blood checked for low iron. Extra iron could be your energy fix.

Thankd for this ost. I am sure the women will aprreciate it. Which, I was planning on getting all that checked out on my return from deployment.
