I tried something today I saw in a magazine: adding ranch dressing mix powder to cottage cheese. It was pretty good, no extra cals. don't add too much though or it will be too strong.
just thought i'd share

Interesting. I never thought of this. Gives me an idea. I have a package of that vegetable soup spice powder that you use to season home made vegetable soup. Wonder what some of that would taste like in cottage cheese? I grew up eating cottage cheese with tomatoes, so that's how I usually eat it. This can't be much different.

Thanks for the tip Tara!!

If you eat your cottage cheese with fruit and don't want the extra calories, try adding a little sugar free jello to it. Just sprinkle the jello on it straight from the box.

soup mix sounds good, gwindalyn! Sandysford, the idea is appreciated but ick I don't think cottage cheese and fruit mix..although I know a lot of people do! A great idea for those with strange tastes....lol...just kidding. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try...

thanks!

LOL - I'm with OGUN (and NOIR)! I'm by no means a picky eater (witness photos at left), but dayum! This is a "No cottage cheese" zone.

Ways to improve the taste of cottage cheese...? Like I always say, sprinkle 1/2 teaspoonful of it over a large pepperoni pizza. Then, and only then, just maybe...

...just kidding Jefado! I'm NOT eating pizza (with or without cottage cheese)! I'm still being good.

This one is for those who really like cottage cheese. When I want something sweet, I like to throw in Splenda until it tastes nice and sweet. It is VERY good.

Tried the salsa today! It was good! And it gave me an idea! I make this chicken stuff that is basically onion, jalapeno, and cooked shredded chicken breast seasoned with course ground pepper and cumin and cooked in a tad of olive oil untilt he onion and pepper is nice and tender. I'm going to try adding cottage cheese to that instead of fat free cheese/sour cream! LOL! Worst that can happen is it becomes dog food. :p

Dahayz that splenda thing sort of reminds me of cheese cake...

Hmmm...good ideas. Plain Cottage Cheese is just disgusting.

I mix mine with sunflower seeds and or almonds. BB1 and Robert told me that cottage cheese congeals in the stomach and give a slow release source of protein overnight. As hard as it is for me to get 215 to 300 grams of protein a day I can't afford not to eat it. LOL
