Instead of buying a bottle of ZMA I read a post about making your own. My question is if I goto walmart I can buy a no-name (Canadian Equate version) vitamin of mag and zinc, b6 for $4 to $5 each making a one month supply of ZMA $15 instead of a main brand company for $30. Would this be just as effective doing this say as buying ultimate nutritions ZMA? I don't see why not if the ZMA is the same dosage as the brand name. But was leary of buying an Equate vitamin as opposed to say Jamison Vitamin etc. Any feedback would be great. Hey im like anyone else, I have a budget and if I can save a few bucks, better in my wallet.

You will be fine. For many folks this works well. Optimal amounts are 30mg Zinc, 450mg Magnesium, 10.5mg B6.

BB1 thanks for your post back. Was able to buy some Magnesium for $5 or just shy of. they are 250mb caps. Would taking 500mg of Magnesium, 50mb Zinc (zinc is 50mg cap) be ok? Are these the type of vitamins/min that if you have to much in your system, they come out as wast product? As for B6, i take a vitamin B complex that i will takewith the zinc and magnesium which has 50mb of b6 in it. Sound ok? Thanks for your post on this. I just enjoy and have noticed a diffence taking the ZMA and want to continue to enjoy its benefits. John

I'm not sure on this but I heard they had to be certain kinds. Like most minerals come with a name after them such as oxide, citride, or stearate. I think I heard you're not supposed to get a certain type because of absorption. Not sure though.

Anyways I just buy the NOW vitamins brand of ZMA. Its $10 for a month's supply.
