I was wondering who put together the mass program on this site. Was it one of the moderators? Reason being is I have questions regarding it. For certain exercises the target reps for the first 2 sets are 20 and 14. Are these target reps meant as a warm up to get the blood flowing or to test the endurance of your muscles. I pick weights that I know I can't do that many reps of and force myself to try and hit that mark. This leaves me tired for my 3rd and 4th sets and sometimes I can't reach the target reps on them as well. THanks.

I had the same problem in my first program. In the second One, I had to start with Very light weight so I could reach the 20 reps.
(I did not feel much with the light weights, but by the time I was done 20reps, I felt it really good), then I added more weight as reps get reduced to 14, 12, 8.

those are warm up reps and they should get lower as the program moves on.....

I think of the first set or two as an "acclimation" phase. This gets your muscles and neural pathways ready for the heavy third and fourth sets, which is where actual growth stimulation takes place.
