They work the muscles in different ways to help build your base.

DBs have more range of motion than do barbells....so they force your muscles to work harder....you are using more auxillary muzcles to stabilize your body during DBs.....

I do not know that Db make your muscles work harder...more like they work them differently.

I run everyday and try to eat healtghy, but I'm not losing any weight. I feel myself toning but not losing weight. Is that okay? Should I just be patient? I've been working out for about 2 weeks consistently. HELP:(

Yes, patience is a virtue in this area. But, with most of us...instant gratification takes too long.
-------------- I ran outta gas. I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from outta town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locusts. It wasn't my fault!! I swear to God!!
