As long as your maintenance calories take into account exercising or the lack there of, this will work as described.

suppose someone used this formula and ate the least amount of calories that his/her body needed to maintain muscle...that is only correct if those calories consist of the proper nutrients, right?

oaky i think ive got this one im 165lbs to be able to keep that weight i have to multiple it by 15 which is 2475 calories i have to take in ever day correct? now if my body fat is 15% * that by 31 which equals 465 calories, which means 465 is my deficit. So i can take in only 2010 calories a day and it wont tao into my Lean Body Mass right? which means overall fatloss!! and six pack here i come?!?!

If I understand this correctly, as you body fat goes down, you need to eat more calories to maintain the muscle mass you are maintaining. That's fantastic!
