hello all and thanks in advance to those who reply...
About 8 month ago I use to be on this site everyday. then I started school and my wife had child #2. Life is starting to get back to "normal" and I'm ready to hit the weights agian. In doing so I'm needing some help with meal ideas. I have gained weight and am 235ish, ideal weight about 180. I know it will take time and dedication, but I ready to give it what ever it takes. If you have any meal plans to help reduce this weight, PLEASE let me know. also what are your thought on the Body for life program? thanks! Tom |

My meal plan for fat loss and keeping my muscle gains
Meal one 1/2 cup cooked oatmeal 4 egg whites 1/4 cup blueberries Meal two Protein Shake with 4 strawberries Meal three 4 oz of chicken or Tuna 1/2 Cup complex carb (Rice Beans) 1 cup veggies Meal four Lean protein (Chicken Tuna Beef) 2 cups veggies 1 slice whole grain bread 2 TBS Peanut butter Meal Five 4 oz Lean Protein 1 cup Veggies 1 TBS flax oil Meal six 6 eggwhites 1 cup veggies 2 TBS Salsa Total calories Appox 1410 Total protein 160 Total Carbs 94 I did the Hydroxcut Challenge a couple of years ago and it was great, They are being sued right now by the State of Missouri for False Advertisement, WHY, because people thought the cure for fat loss was in a bottle. I am going to testify for Hydroxcut even though I didn't win, WHY, because I followed the whole plan and it did work. The cure was not in the bottle, the cure was following the whole plan. Good luck, Modify the diet to suit your needs, being a male you might what to up the protein intake to 6 oz. That sort of thing. Good Luck to you and congrats on the new baby. -------------- THE NATURAL WAY IS THE ONLY TRUE PATH TO SUCCESS, PRIDE, JOY, HAPPINESS, LONG TERM FULFILLMENT AND SELF-ESTEEM! |

My 2 cents.
If you are going to do apples at all, stay away from the reds and only eat the greens. The reds are full of fructose, which is actually acts as a sugar, so it will more easily be stored as fat on breakdown. These fruits are good: Granny Smith apples, green apples, strawberries, blackberries, cranberries, boysenberries, green pears and kiwi. You can have any complex carbohydrate, there are two kinds, starchy which would include rice (brown preferred), yams, Barley, Buckwheat, Bulghur (cracked wheat), butter beans, chard, chick peas, corn, garbonzo beans, kasha, kidney beans, legumes, lentils, lima beans, millet, old-fashioned rolled oats (oatmeal), peas, pinto beans, potatoes, rice cakes, sweet potatoes, white beans, winter squash, any natural, unrefined whole grain. Then there are lean, fibrous vegetables with would include alfalfa sprouts, artichokes, asparagus, bamboo shoots, bok choy (Chinese cabbage), broccoli, broccoflower, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, collard greens, eggplant, green beans, green, leafy vegetables, kale, leeks, mushrooms, okra, onions, parsley, parnsips, rutabaga, salad vegetables, scallions, spinach, summer squash, turnips, turnip greens, watercress, and zuchini. You should probably try to get a protein, starchy carb and a lean-fibrous carb in every meal because when they are taken together, they supposedly help to keep the metabolism burning for a longer period of time because the body has to work harder to digest all of it. I hope that this helps! Good luck! ***** Never give up! Never surrender! Prevail over all! |

and notice sandy said increase the protein - you actually decreased it a little - protein is very important and higher protein diets have been shown in many studies to be more effective for fat loss.-------------- If you fall down seven times, get up eight. |

If I throw another protein shake in with a meal, will that be enough protein?
I normally only eat granny smith apple. If not that then it will be a golden delicous apple. |
