Can anyone give me a good option for a meal replacement bar? I have to take a 6 hour roadtrip on Friday, and I dont want to screw up my diet. I have been so good for 2 weeks. I find that when I go on road trips is when I start straying from my diet. Any viable options?

I like metrx bars as well as the carb control ones. I do not get them often as they cost a lot more than say peanut butter...but they only real considerastion is the taste....metrx is the best I think.

Tried a couple of bars recently. Trioplex was okay, taste wasn't too bad. However, in my current disorganised state the best tasting bar I can't remember. I'd kept the wrappers to see how they compared. If I find it I'll post and let you know.

I am not really concerned with taste. I am more concerned with what is the best choice nutritionally.

My experience with protein bars has been that they are loaded with sugar. I haven't heard of meal replacement bars but then again, I'm an idiot. I have packed a lunch every day for 15 years. Is that an option? Also if you have to eat along the interstate, Subway is everywhere and is the least evil of the fast food joints.

I made up the term meal replacement bar. I have no idea if they exist. I think subway might have to be my option Chuck. In fact now that I thinnk about it, I can eat subway before I leave, get to my destination in 2 1/2 hours, have subway while I am there and turn around and come back home. You are so smart.

I'm with Justin! I posted an awesome "muffin" recipe that is well balanced and very yummy AND filling  a long while ago. I'd have to be in a real pinch in order to actually eat a store bought protein bar.
Oh and "meal replacement bar" is a real term ; ) I have a recipe for one of those to, pretty sure it is also posted in this forum.
If ya don't want to bother looking let me know and I can e-mail some recipes to you.
