I'm trying to get someone to help me out with supplements
I'm back in the gym again for the first time in 7 years and it feels great,I have a wife and four kids so its hard to buy all the supplements out there,so I take a multi vit and mineral tab and i take a myoplex shake,I can only use 1 shake a day due to the cost I was wondering if i should take it b4 workout or after or just anytime to replace meal.
also if there is any supplements that i deffinatly need,I love being back in the gym,I'm a fulltime firefighter/paramedic so i'm in decent shape i just have this layer of fat all the way around and plan on losing it with hard work. Thanks for all your help and Train Hard

Immediately after your workout will be most beneficial. It will absorb rapidly and get into your muscles. Myoplex is expensive, look for a cheaper whey based powder or Meal replacement. Look in the supplements forum or try looking it up in fitbuddy - there have been a lot of suggestions for where to find cheap but quality shakes.

What is the rest of your diet like? That will determine your fat loss more than anything...

loow cal? NO NO NO! You need to eat enough calories. lean protein, vegetables, whole grains! Okay...

I get 2,800 calories a day for you at a goal weigh of 220..but - you need to figure out what you average daily intake is now so that we can gradually raise or lower your calories to get you to the right amount. As for ratios, I think a 40/40/20 p/c/f is a good starting point for fat loss. From there you can play with the ratio a little until you find what works for you.

Look for a 'Grocery list for a bodybuilder' in the nutrition section.
Count your calories for 3 or 4 day, rough estimates and then avaerage them out to get your daily baseline amount. Then we can figure out the next step.
