I've been trying to incorporate more meat into my diet lately because of the protein value. now I'm talking a ton of meat, just maybe 6 ounces a day..and always something healthy and lean like white fish, salmon, or chicken. The problem is, the second I do that, I sky rocket above my fat consumption goal and I STILL haven't eaten enough protein. At that point, I usually want to stop eating because I've already consumed so dang much fat.
Should I not eat meat ??

Chicken and turkey are good high-protein, low-fat solutions.

I've posted this before, but try and get your hands on some wild game moose meat.
My dad hunts and got me some, just read the info on it... it's mostly protein... 1 pound of it will get you over 120 grams of protein! And the fat is so low... I think for 1 pound of moose meat there's like 5-7 grams of fat, which is amazing.
Sirloin steak (top round is good) has a ton of protein as well. I have no problem getting my recommended protein per day if I eat moose or steak plus protein supplements and some tuna.

If you are consuming just lean cuts of meat it is very hard to consume excess fat! I would check your calculations on that. Also, how much fat are you allowing yourself? You know that you do need some fat? It is recommended that around 30% of your calories come from fat - mostly the good fats.
When I'm preparing for comps, I actually take in additional fat in the form of oils to up the fat in my diet. This helps me shed more weight.

I eat a lot of meat! mainly chicken breasts and turkey! They contain very little fat! Try trimming of the fat before cooking it or go for the pure chicken breasts and whynot stir fry some vegetables using a little olive oil - this will give you some good unsaturated fat which helps fight bad fat! Hope this helps!

What kind of meat are you eating? What else are you eating? I can down close to a pound of meat in a day and not hit my fat totals. Maybe the rest of your diet is what needs some attention.

The meat in my diet adds almost no fat. As a matter of fact, I have a hard time getting ENOUGH fat consumed. Perhaps your nutritional values are off?

Good point, Gwin.
tarab, if you're going by the totals given to you by FT, don't. Use the Harris-Benedict formula for total calories and then split them. Look for my posts here about it.
