Anybody Else retain water while taking Anti-Inflammatory Meds such as Ibuprofen!
Kind of sucks but don't make the mistake like I did about a year ago and think your getting fat and lower your calories or do something to fight it, just except it and keep going on until your off them and then it will go away.
At least that's the attitude I'm using this time around.

That is odd, I don't know that I have ever noticed anti-inflammatories causing water retention, of course, now that you mentioned it, next time I take Ibuprofen i will probably blow up like a pufferfish :surprised:
Drink extra water...

Happens to me all the time while on high dosages.
It's not that bad though.

Non Steriodal Anti Inflammatory Agents (NSAIDs) can in fact actually promote salt and water retention and can antagonize beta-blockers, diuretics, and ACE inhibitors, resulting in an elevated blood pressure.
However this is due to the toxicity of the medication. If this is occuring, it is due to an accidental minor overdose. It means you are taking too much of it, or your body can't handle the medication. I would talk to a doctor, or cut back on the Ibubrofen to a lower dosage and see what happens.

I'm off it as of today and it was Naproxen at 500 miligrams per pill so to start it was 1500 a day and ended with 1000.
Glad it's over but even happier I don't freak like before and think I was actually gaining fatness.
