i am thinking on taking met-rx before bed because as you all know it is a blend of milk, caseinate and whey protein so it is a slow realise shake.

good for catabolism during your sleep.

unfortunnely i just started cutting to get rid of that belly.

my question is should i take met-rx or should i stay with my cottage cheese or tuna as well as my chicken breast to avoid carbs?

I would opt for fiber to be my carb source on a cut. Have a lean protein such as eggwhites(an omlette would be a good choice with lots of omlette veggies, throw some salsa on it if you like) and have some good fats like flax oil. On a cut, this is an excellent combination...no sugars, etc. Plenty of protein, with good fiber and fats to slow digestion and hold off catabolism also. Even when cutting, it is never a good idea to go to bed too hungry.

why too many carbs?

would met-rx be a good choice bedtime meal if you are not caring about calories?
or is it a bad idea?(would it make you store those 225 calories as fat?)

Unless you have a raging metabolism, I would keep carbs down to a minimum before bed, and the carbs you do have make them of the fibrous kinds at that. If you are trying to gain, Met rx (I believe it is the MRP you are referring to) would be ok, but I would still opt for fats and fiber before bed with your protein source. (flax meal for instance is excellent, or if you are trying to gain, natural peanut butter). If calories are not an issue, then do what you want. I believe you may not like the results though.
