How soon after waking should you eat breakfast? I’ve read that you should eat at least on hour after waking to get your metabolism going for the day. What do you all thing?
There's quite a debate as to whether you should eat before your morning workout or after..
But the general consensus seems to be that you should always eat a good breakfast within an hour of getting up.
You should be breaking up your daily calorie target into about 5 to 6 meals a day (or three meals plus late morning and afternoon snacks). To spread that out evenly through the day you want to get a good start with breakfast or you'll either a.) not get enough nutrients, or b.) get too much at the end of the day.
