I am currently trying to add mass, and am unsure how to maximize my gains by using protein powder. I am currently having a Protein powder shake mixed with milk(1%) first thing in the morning. Then another shake mixed with water at mid morning. I have been taking 1L of Chocolate milk right after my late afternoon workout. And then another protein shake mixed with water at bedtime. Now based on what I have read lately, this might be backwards and I should have protein shakes after my workouts, and in the morning, but milk at other times. Can someone please clarify this for me. Thanx in advance.

A protein shake is probably optimal post workout. Any other time, just eat food. Taking in more protein in supplement form will in no way insure you gain muscle. It will however insure that you are that much poorer.
