No question but I continue to be amazed at how fast you can lose hard gained musle. I just got back from two weeks in California doing installs and training and pretty much worked double shifts the whole time. The body weight stayed fine but I worked out this afternoon and after looking at my workout logs, I was back to where I was 3 months ago. :(

Hey Mike, nice to have you back, I was kinda wondering where you were.
Don't worry, you'll be the talk of the rest home again in no time. I'm of course jk. It is truly amazing what 2 weeks off can do. Here's to your return.:dumbbell: Welcome back Mike!:dumbbell: -------------- Seize the day! |

:) After a couple of weeks of double shifts I'm feeling like I could fit into a rest home and I'm definitely getting too old for this kind of pace. Unfortunately, I have to head out to Key West Sudnay then Virgina Beach a couple of days later.

Let's hope you get to enjoy key west and VA beach a little more than Cali. Regardless, it's nice having you back on the boards.
If you want, I'll fill in for ya. No problemo! Welcome back again Mike, gotta put my kiddos in bed now. I'll catch up with you later. -------------- Seize the day! |

I wonder if your strength is down just from shear tiredness from your work and travel. I'll bet once you get back at it you'll find you get your gains back rather quickly. :)

Jet lag I guess FOTW. I just finished a session and there's not much difference from the time I left. Two weeks of 18 hour days kind of gets you down and I'll be heading to Key West Sunday. :)-------------- Mike in Pensacola Now. |

Thanks Ron - just did my schedule through August and it looks like I'll have one weekend off till then. FOTW - I don't do cold places anymore if I can help it. I spent a season in Antarctica and haven't been warm since. :) I have a couple of bases to hit in the northeast and scheduled them for July and August.-------------- Mike in Pensacola Now. |

LOL No sstump. I've been involved in the air traffic control field since I was a kid. The company I work for does air traffic support for the National Science Foundation at the South Pole. I went down to relieve a guy that had broken his leg. Supposedly just for a couple of weeks but wound up spending the whole season down there. I do training simulators now for the Navy.-------------- Mike in Pensacola Now. |

Alot of it i find is mind set...While I come back not as strong, after one workout i'm back to where I was before I took the time off.
if you come in the weight room saying.."i'm gonna be weak, not gonna be able to lift his" then thats what will happen. However if you come in saying" i'm gonna make best of my time off, my body is rested, my mind is sharp i will succeed" then you'll be ok. the mind i have come to realize is just as important as the lifting aspect of training. -------------- Get your bicep curling, cut off shirt, matching workout outfit wearing, flexing in mirror "toned" wanna-be ass , out of my squat rack! No argument out of me Andrew. When I made that post I'd just gotten hom from 2 weeks of 18 hour days and was over tired and more than a little stressed out from some major software bugs. For the first time in a looonnnng time, I was feeling my age. :) And as you said, it's mostly mental and attitude.-------------- Mike in Pensacola Now. |
