Alright, Im new to this site and I wanna ask a few questions. First,Im considered a "hardgainer" and I need to know about how many meals a day I need and how often.(luckly for me time is not a opption since I work at home.) Second, I heard that it wasnt really the amount or types of foods consumed but rather the way you eat them.
If this is true, what should each one of my meals consist of? Third I heard that as a hardgainer I should only workout once a week! I know recovery is key to gaining strength and muscle but come on! once a week!? I plan on following the schedule given to me here.
any and all help would be apperciated! thanks in advance guys!

Hehe, you hear a lot of weird stuff... Well more like half-truths. You need to train 4-5 days a week, but rest is very important. You need to eat more and what you eat is more important then the training itself.
There is no special way to eat ( I didn't realize there were more ways then through the mouth ), but you are better off having 5-7 smaller meals daily. Every 2 to 3 hours is good between meals.
Meals should consist of a lean protien (chicken, tuna, etc), carbs (veggies, grains, etc) and good fats which come from natural, whole foods.
-------------- - Its never about how much you can lift, or how many reps you do. Its just about doing it, and doing it right.
- If your hungry all the time, your not eating enough. And anyways, being hungry sucks.

Well - I THOUGHT I was a hardgainer. That was until I just got off my butt and did things right. The myth I always saw with hardgainers was the fact that no matter what I did - I couldnt gain weight. The rules I've learned with gaining weight are this;
1.) Eat Right. Dont eat when you feel like it - and eat at the same time every day so your body gets used to getting food - and so it doesnt think you're starving it.
2.) Be consistent in rule 1 and rule 3.
3.) Work out propperly. Form is the most important part, after that weight and reps. I also found that I would get 'lazy' and not to enough weight. I also thought I couldnt DO anymore reps.
What I did was a friend of mine finaly talked me into going to the gym with him, so he could teach me propperly what to do. I did - and I learned SO much - I cant believe it. I've gone from 5'10" 123# to 134# in 7 weeks. Which for me - is astounding - the heaviest I've been. I also feel better.
If you can find someone to go with - or afford a trainer - do it - and get your form, and weights right. Then eat propperly - and consistently. DONT skip days on eating or going to the gym - even if you're tired - GO. If you're sick - thats different.
I'm still learning - dont take what I said as gospel btw.
