I've noticed that when I'm working a particular muscle group, and that muscle group fatigues, I can go work on something else and come back a few minutes later with renewed vigor.
For example, my chest gets tired doing 3rd or 4th set on bench. I go do a few sets of something else, say ab crunches, then come back to bench. Now I can suddenly bench about 20 more pounds, same reps.
What gives? Is this a recipe for overtraining? Is it better to maintain focus on same muscle group, or give it rest?
