hey,
i've been working out slighty over a year now, with a few breaks in between due to injury, however, I have a muscle imbalance. My left pec is larger than my right pec. Someone told me when doing the bench press, or any related chess training exercises, just to add five extra pounds on the weeker side (right side) so i can make it as strong as the left side. Is this the proper technique or should I be doing something different?

Slap the person who told you that....
Try training unilatterally...by doing DB presses, flyes, one handed cable flyes, machines...minimize training with barbells until you can correct the imbalance....

what do you mean to train unilaterally....by doing DB presses. the way i workout my chest right now is doing all exercersises will dumbells . I do nothing with barbells. I assume what you mean is to continue doing what i am doing but use the same weight on both sides. Will I be on the right track if that's what i begin to do?

I take it your left handed? You will always have a dom, or lil bigger or stonger side. I'm right handed.....my right bicep is bigger.......but my left quad is bigger than my right? go figure.
