Is there any treatment, aside from massage, to remove a muscle knot?

I've had one just under my right shoulder blade for the last couple of years and sometimes it's a challenge and other times it isn't...

Thanks,
t

I've started going to a chiropracter for my lower back, and he's been doing manipulation on my neck and upper back aswell for muscle knots. I don't know if it is going to work yet though! I'll keep you posted

Thanks, princess... not a big fan of chiropracters... but, if push came to shove, I guess...

Just looking for an inexpensive way of dealing with this stupid thing!

Tim, have you ever had a neck or back injury?
Another form of treatment is accupuncture, or electrical stimulation. It's actually a muscle that is staying turned "on".

I've done the acupuncture... big supporter or it... however, it didn't seem to get rid of the knot... may try it again...

Hey Tim... I have had several back surgeries, and i dont like the chiropracter thing either. Ibuprofen and heating pads is the only "home remedy" that works for me. That or a good ole back massage:big_smile: I hope you get to feeling better soon! ~Shannon~

Thanks Shannon... I have a stiff back today... not sure if it's DOMS or if I aggravated the muscle again... grrr... I think I'll be making an appointment with my acupuncturist lady!
