If you paly ball on a daily basis, you are going to need to pack on the calories and carbs to gain weight since you are burning so many everyday. try eating 6 meals a day, roughly 700 calories, 50 grams protein, and drinking at least a gallon of water a day. Sleep 8 hours, and I'm pretty sure you will start putting weight on.

Yup I agree with raskalsbp. You have to eat. Make sure to continue to train your legs with whatever exercises you do for explosiveness when you pack on the weight. I played basketball too and when I put on like 20 pounds of muscle mass, my vertical dropped along with my overall explosiveness.

thanks for the advice i will try it but what kind of lifts should i do to keep my qickness and explosiveness. right now i do my squats and power cleans along with plyometrics but that is about it.

Yeah keep doing those exercises as they work for explosiveness. I do squats, jump rope, and a jump program. (plyometrics)

Whoa RaskalSbp, Im sure you know more about lifting and nurtition than me, but youre telling a 190 pound kikd to consume 300 gs of protein a day. Isnt that a little much? Just my opinion.

ah....it won't kill him. Besides, it's doubtful every meal will have 50 grams of protein, so he'll probably even out to around 200 or so.

no...it wont hurt him. As long as he drinks a minimum of a gallon of water a day. I'd lean towards a gallon and a half, since your doing so much cardio. As long as you ingest proper amounts of water, your kidneys will not have any trouble breaking down everything.
