I'm a skinny hardgainer. I've begun a proper new diet/supplements geared toward putting on muscle mass and I'm lifting 4 days per week for less than an hour per session.
After lifting one muscle group, I've had an odd reaction: I wake up the following day with no pain or soreness, even though I'm a motivated lifter. But as the days progress, I slowly get sore and remain sore for about two days following the onset. For example, I did bis/tris yesterday and woke up pain free. Now a little bit of soreness is beginning and I anticipate starting tomorrow I will be very sore for a couple days.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? How might I speed up the recovery process?
It happes differently for each of us it is called DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). However it is not to be used to gauge the level of workout (if it was good or bad). You can have a very productive workout and feel little or no soreness. I ususaly get the soreness about 24-48 hrs after that workout and it lasts about 1-3 days. Warm to hot baths (sauns hot tubs etc) can help. Advil or such used sparingly can help. Light avtivity (some even do the same workout again with very light weight) such as walking and streching is good as well.

There's also a product called ZMA.. some claim this helps with muscle recovery. But.. I tend to think it's hype. (after trying it myself) But hey, thought I'd throw it out there.
ps You're not alone in the soreness delay.. I get the same reaction.
