I was wondering what a lot of us "younger" folk listen to while we work out, personally i enjoy fast metal type music or ska on occasion, stuff to get me pumped up i suppose. Post full playlists if you can, just looking for ideas to make my gym time more, enjoyable i guess.

I tend to combine drum and bass/dance and metal as you say to pump me up - lets out anger and builds muscle at the same time ;)
My workout CD consists of: Prodigy - Spitfire Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name Mastodon - The wolf is loose Hadouken! - That boy that girl Nile - Sacrifice unto sebek The Horrors - Sheena is a parasite CSS - Off the hook Job for a cowboy - knee deep Necrophagist - Fermented offal discharge Pendulum - Slam Battles - Atlas Shy Child - Noise won't stop Despite the various levels of... aggression, it has a fairly even tempo. |

I love to jog, and live right smack dab in the middle of the Kettle Moraines in Wisconsin which is a state owned forest with lots of hills and paths etc (very nice place to live). Running up all the hills can be really hard but I've found that if I listen to the right music, I only concentrate on that, and not how much running up hill hurts!
I like to listen to a lot of broadway music because theatre is the biggest passion of my life. A lot of the melodies and lyrics are very inspiring and can easily take you mind off the physical aspect. Other than that I am a big classical music buff (as a flute/oboe/piano player) and the right music can keep your mind relaxed while running, thus again making it easier. My favorite contemporary groups are Imogen Heap, The Hush Sound, and Regina Spektor. Imogen isn't great for running to, but if I'm in the mood, it'll get the job done. The Hush Sound has a lot of very good upbeat fun songs to keep you going. -------------- \"To play an instrument is to express. To dance is to emote. To sing is to cry out to the world. To act is to begin life anew. To perform is to live.\" |

I go for the more techno beat. I listened to Panic! at the Disco the other night while I was working out. I like a lot of alternative. Something up beat, fast, with a nice deat on the drum going to get me wanting to move.

I listen to a lot of Panic! at the Disco or Fall Out Boy when I work out-- Upbeat kind of stuff...
But nothing can get a woman more pumped up when working out than a little Aretha Franklin... -------------- \"I pay no attention whatever to anyone\'s praise or blame; I simply follow my own feelings.\" - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart |

I'd recommend bloodsimple, dark tranquility, silent civilian, and die cast to a lot of you based on your current choices.
