I want to try Muscle Milk (1/2) for pre-workout and the other half after my workout. My goal is to cut body fat and build lean muscles. Muscle Milk has 18g of fat per serving and 8g of saturated fat. I'm told the fats are good fats and do not concern myself with the fat content. Of course I'm using Muscle Milk as a MSRP 3 times a week (only on my heavy lifting days). So.. any advice? Try it.. or stay away from MM?? |

I don't know Muscle Milk..... but 8 gr of saturated fat per serving?!!!!!! Wow!Another thing, right after weight training your body desperately needs proteins, eating fat will not be a good thing since it slows down the protein absorbtion. -------------- - Nina :o) Les Victoires éternelles sont celles du coeur. |

I have seen Muscle Milk in the stores. I had it in my hand, sounds interesting, but put it down with reading the 8 gr. sat. fat. This does not mean it isn't good, but not for me. My opinion.-------------- The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary! |

Muscle Milk details:18g of fat 8g saturated fat 32g Protein 12g carbs? I was told to use Muscle Milk as a meal replacement seeing as though it as 350+ calories (more w/skim milk). I'm trying to lose fat while packing on 10lbs of muscles. I'm 5'9..180lb.. 10% body fat. |

Intruder..I found Muscle Milk at my local Discount Nutrition Store. It runs about $24.xx. I read on other sites it works really well (when trying to build muscle) and the product label actually claims to burn fat too. |

sounds like over-load to me. Better ways to get fat, or build mass.-------------- The trouble with jogging is that, by the time you realize you are not in shape for it, it is too far to walk back! Franklin P. Jones Ivan Montreal Canada |

I hear the containers work well for storing things in. Seriously though, I was looking at it Saturday in the store. If it does all it says it does, must be the wonder supplement of the century. Kind of sounds like some hype may be involved. I think I would check with people in the gym where you go, see if anyone there is using it and if they are doing any good on it. Should be some pretty huge guys well cut by the sound of the stuff, so should be easy to pick them out. They make it sound good, but when I read the 8g. sat fat it was enough to make me put it down. Best of luck....-------------- The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary! |

LOL I hate to be the only one to defend this stuff. I used it as a MRP for a little over a month but my results were hardly scientific. My gym placed an order for some of our amateur BB's and wound up with too much. They made me a good offer and coincidentally, I felt like I'd hit a plateau at my then bodyweight so I used it to help with a quick bulk. LBM gains were good but my calorie intake was dratically increased for this time frame also. Some of the best tasting powder I've had but I could almost literally watch the weight come on. No appreciable fat gains but then again it was for a relatively small duration and the workouts were also much heavier. |

Well first off, because of the fat and the likelyhood that the protein is a blend, Muscle Milk would not be good for post workout. It might even be a stretch pre workout unless you take it an hour before. Also, yeah, 8g of saturated fat is quite a bit, especially if you're considering it multiple times per day. Sounds like a bad idea to me - but like bb1 said, it's not necessarily bad, just not for me. But I'm thinking most people here will say the same.-------------- "Don't follow leaders and watch your parking meters!" -- Bob Dylan |
