I have a lot of fear within me lately. My wife is pregnant and on Wed this week she is leaveing her job to watch 2 extra kids at home with my boys. ALL the benefits and such as well as Financial security falls on my shoulders. Thing is that my job is a great job for the most part. BUT there are many things about it that stress me out and that is carrying over to my family life. I am for the most part totaly in charge of an office, ordering, collections, sales, cleaning, shipping, recieving inbound and outbound calls, scheduling, project managing, in the end I do just about everything but what I was actually hired on to do. So I sit here at work scared that I am going to do something that gets me fired or that this company, which is small, will close.
SO why am I writing about this? Not sure....is it wrong of me to keep my resume out there? I look at job sites occasionally. I really enjoy this place all most 100%. But there are times like right now when I feel totaly overwhelemed and there is no one who can help out. I am the "go to guy" for the entire company. While that is a great feeling and all, it is not what I consider what or who I am. I never really have liked all the responbility that I took as a husband and father, do not get me wrong. I love being both....would not trade being married to my wife or being a father to my boys for anyhting. Just oh hell I feel totaly frightened right now about life in general. I almost feel like I am having a panic attack all the time. Thanks for listening to me whine.:( -------------- Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack! Maybe you are having anxiety issues...a new baby(girl:))on the way...very stressful in and of itself...you need to relax...don't worry about problems that have not yet occured...this is my biggest issue...what ifs drive me batty...but when I relax...and know my life is on the path it's supposed to be...I feel better. If these anxious feelings continue...you may need to see a Dr.
You're life is beautiful...your children are healthy...your wife is healthy...you have a new baby on the way...you have a job...a home...more than many have...I think you always forget to count your blessings. -------------- "But more than anything, more than anything, My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to, Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small, You never need to carry more than you can hold" My Wish Rascall Flats I sing this song to my kids...but I realized..it works for yall too.... |

I fully reccomend everyone getting a package of Emergen-C for when they get sick. When my hubby and I start toget a sore throat/stuffy head, we drink a glass of water with this stuff in it, and a day later the cold is usually gone or on its way out.

Been a while so i thought i would post here. Things are going as well as i can hope for. Was close to a 405 Dl saturday so it is a matter of time before i pull that off and lock it. Weight is stable at 235-240. I added in 15 mins of HIIT 2x a week so lets see if that helps. I want to lose about 25-35lbs more.

One thing that just came to me that I wanted to note here. Since I had the surgery and was able to lift heavier again I have had DOMS so bad that it has a pain level of 8 at times.....not sure why or how to help that along other than not lifting heavy.-------------- Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack! It is one thing that has always annoyed me is to go in the gym one day and have what is a great workout, then go in a day or so later and totaly suck. That is happening more and more it feels to me. I hit my numbers last night for just ONE Fing exercise. Just one. I got my speed bench in that went great 155 is an improvement, that is what I am looking for. I went to Incline Bench like I wanted and got out 135x10-nice easy. 155x8 again easy 175x4 this sucked.
I had wanted to do shrugs, looked to the rack and a guy was using it....for <gasp> squats i was cool with that, until I saw a set......Now i do not mind waiting for the rack if a few things are done: one is that it is being used as God intended, heavy barbell work. This guys is doing squats with 135lbs no problem for him that was heavy cool. My issue is the 1/4 squats he was doing. MAN DO THE SQUAT RIGHT OR MOVE OUT OF THE RACK!. SO, I decided to do my triceps, ie: dips. Last week I hit 2 ssets of 9 reps. LOL this week I got 4 sets of 4,5, 5, 6 reps WTF? That was it folks, I had 5 sets of shrugs, and more tri work planned PLUS HIIT. NOPE I was shaky and sick to my stomach so I bailed and went home. I am so tired of that happening...it seems to happen later in the week, so I am not sure what is the exact cause and or how to avoid this feeling. It was so bad i just about broke down on the way home (crying that is). I DO NOT feel like I am doing too much over all, maybe need some advice on arrangeing my workouts differently? Not sure but if it contintues I am quitting and becoming a dedicated couch spud! -------------- Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack! I struggle to lift twice a week.....cuz personally i hate lifting while sore... time to start adding weight to those dips Mutt.... able to do any CHINS yet? great job with the progress..... | |

Leo that link was too long so I took out your post and the link here is your post:
Scott(Mutt hope i am remembering your name right...lol) I would drop deadlifts and only throw them in as a first exercise every few weeks....just too hard to recover from imo.... (give standing rope crunches on pulldown station a try...i lvoe this exercise for abs)...you can also use it for twists/side bends.... You may even think about doing 2 workouts a week...sounds like you're struggling to recover so 2 workouts a week maybe just fine also....with optional 3rd workout perhaps for GPP or Complexes/other cardio/conditioning work... Mon: Heavy Squat Variation Deadlift variation(RDLs,SLDLs, etc) Assistance exercise for biggest weakness(heavy hypers, GMs, unilateral exercises, etc) Optional 4th assistance(calf raises, GHR, etc) Heavy ABs Heavy ABs grip training Thu/Fri: Heavy OHP(push/military/bent presses) BOR/Dynamic Rows/Chins(use bands for assistance or do negatives) Bench/Dips heavy Abs heavy Abs grip training i bought a set (2) of these packages....for a total of 95$(including S&H)....i am not sure if he has more but he has 1 left....at 29.99$ it's still a pretty great deal for 25, 50, 75, 125lb band package....you can use them for chins/pulls....and if u happen to catch another package u can use them for all the big lifts on ME or DE... good luck -------------- Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack! Wow life is funny some times. You would think with a good paying job (finally) that all is well. HA, life is not always a bed of roses i know that. But the life you want and the life you HAVE to live hardly ever co exist. That is where I am at. I have a good paying job I am fairly good at it. But the stress in dealing with all that I have to, combined with a man (the owner) that is psycho-anal-retnetive-OCD-Type A Personality, on top of a home life (that You all know I am so unbelieveablely thankful for) is seeing a new one come into it, well that stress is killing me and I have done things that were not good. Not going to go into that old news.
I am so tired of being so tired and stressed. SO as a few know I have decided, without telling the wife, to take charge of this all. One way is that I am looking into Goverment work via civil service and the like. ALso with the help of a valued friend (you know who you are) I am moving forward with a business plan to open what I call now (name changes every now and then) Mutt's Iron Werks. My dream is to have a gym that is commercial enough to pay for the gym and my family, and also cater to my side the Darkside as some call it. I see a place where the folks that just want to get healthy can come, and still have space for the Power lifter and strength trainer. I want a site where you can flip tires and carry kegs, pull sleds and on the inside do hours of cardio if you want to. Anyway just wanted to jot a few thoughts down. -------------- Curl Jockeys, get outta the squat rack! I wish everyone would get a partial amnesia and never use 'tone' ever again. MY wife commented that my legs are getting cut and look huge from behind the hamstrings are popping out and you can see the quads from the sides. That made my day.
