I dont think pushups will take you too far if your really trying to develop a very muscular chest. Using your own bodyweight for resistance will only take you so far.
From your profile you dont seem to have a problem with fat so its all about just building the muscles really. Pull ups, parallel bar dips, push ups on staircase, regular pushups, close pushups, wide pushups will all help develop the chest. All this exercises can be looked up at fitness resources (not sure if its available to non-pro users)
All the exercises wont help too much though if your diet sucks, I suggest signing up a program with ft, follow diet and the workout plan. It would also help to join a gym or purchase a bench and some weights equipments.
