Yes... yes it did... hardest trophy to win in pro sports has gone to the Carolina Hurricanes... congrats to Cam Ward, Conn Smythe Trophy winner and former goalie from the town I work in!

Tim, I think they drill a whole in the silver football and the champagne then flows out.
But then again Charlie, Mutt, and Atiger, The Mongtreal Canadiens have one 24 Stanley Cups. Charlie, you need the 10 to trade!

Well, what I am impressed with is the 14th place team gave the fourth place team a run for their money. Not sure anyone truly expected the 'Canes to get as far as they did. And I know NOBODY expected the Oilers to get to game seven of the final. Amazing.. great series and I think with changes and the strike, fans and players are finally excited about hockey again.

Seriously, hockey starts their mini camp in 2 months

KC as for soccer, it must take too much skill and stamina to actually score. the game is over once a team gets that insurmountable 1-0 lead:big_smile:

See in football it is so physically and mentally draining, the players need 6 months off just to recover ( and have time to wreck their motors and get arrested )

LOL or beat up their spouses and such. See I lump hockey in sports like wiffle ball, checkers etc. Some skill is needed but not really.

Well, having played a lot of football and after visiting a hockey locker room, I can attest to the fact that hockey players smell much worse than football players.

Tim, not that I doubt you but why is the Stanley the hardest to win??

Around 80 games a season, then each of the four rounds can take up to seven games... plus, those guys work their a$$e$ off each night they play...

And Sporting News says so! hahaha... if you believe that sort of thing...

http://i.tsn.com/voices/paul_grant/20020530-p.html

I know they play a whack of games in baseball, but I don't know if the physical work is as exhausting. Football, physically demanding, but the schedule (I don't think) is as demanding as hockey...

Something tells me though, The World Cup might be pretty tough to win too...

hahahaha... some guys kick a ball around with the purpose of putting it into a big net. Somehow (despite the size of the net) they can't do it and typically run up high scores like one nil.... (no offense to any soccer players out there... I do appreciate the sport!)

Tim, football cleared up all the steriods when people started dying. Now they just do stuff that will not show up on the tests
Maybe it is the toughest to win because they have to fight against people not watching. In the states womens softball scored a higher rating the the NHL playoffs

The World Cup is that thing where if your team scores 6 times you beat 5 teams.

Maybe it is because they are called "cups" - I guess "cup" translated means "little scoring"

Yeah but with soccer fans it's like having every stadium filled with nothing but Philidelphia and Cleveland football fans... a mass of broken beer bottles and broken teeth.
