Hi everybody!
I just began a new program & I would like to know if this is overtraining or not... my workout length is about 1.5 hours to 2 hours...
3 days on, a day off, 3 day on, one day off...
Monday: Chest - Biceps/Triceps Thuesday: Legs - Calves Wednesday: Back - Traps
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Chest - Bis/Tris Saturday: Back - Deltoids Sunday: Legs - Calves - Forearms
So, if it’s overtraning, tell me why pleaz...because a good friend of mine told me that if I want to grow, I need to hit my muscles twice a week... I actually hit my shoulder only once a week because they grow really faster than any other parts of my body...
Also, I try to eat like a bear! The freetrainers nutrition program section is telling me that I have to eat like this:
Protein: 180 gr Carbs: 630 gr Calories: 3600 Fats : 44 gr
Thanx a lot guys/girls !

Just my opinion but anything over one hour and it's over training. I did that for years and stayed in decent (although static) shape. You can do that for a long time and make phenomenal gains but at some point you get to the point where you can't overload progressively and your gains stop. It's not just the muscles, it's the central nervous system. As one example, your kidneys are a big factor. Whether or not you work your chest, arms or legs today, doesn't make the slightest difference to your kidneys. They still have to filter all the waste products out of your blood so you can fully recover. And until you are fully recovered, you won't grow new muscle. That's a physiological law. So a split routine helps reduce the amount of work your kidneys and other organs have to perform, but as you get stronger and hoist heavier iron, your kidneys will need more time to perform their job.

So, if I cut one day in this program...such I train 5 times per week...such as I'll train legs only once...will this be ok ?

dzimy - your best bet is to try what you think best and monitor the results. I was just pointing out that a lot of people think more is better and it just ain't so in most cases.
