Mind you I know most of, if not all of these are bad form, but before the axe comes down I haven't done these with my fat body (did them 12 yrs ago when i was 265) and have only did a few practice reps before the Mutt/Jay Squat off challenge....I need help with feedback on what I am doing wrong in reguards to me...since I cut this video short of my talking before reps I use a standard olympc bar with both overhand grips on the line between the textured grips feet are one shoe width outside each shoulder I took it from the side because it is the back and butt i am worried about most....NOT THE DEPTH (yet) I am trying to get used to uit before going lower and lower... watch it let me know what you think

That was cool...looked good to me..but don't listen to me...wait for the guys..
I just wanted to say..I WANT ONE OF THOSE...I lift my weights up off the floor onto my shoulders..but sometimes I can't get it over my head onto my shoulders...not strong enough...I need one of those bar things you have... -------------- You put yourself in stupid places....Yes I think you know its true....situations where its easy to look down on you. keep in mind that i'm no expert or trainer by any means.
that said, it looks to me like you're leaning over more than you're squating/sitting back, resulting in more of a goodmorning lift than a squat. |

I know I am leaning a little much i think its mental for me cant see to push my tiny butt on this big frame back....thanks so far....hey KC i got that home gym/weight bench from my wife before thanksgivign as xmas gift...its cheap and you can set it up for use with olympic size bars or the standard cheap weights with the 1 inch diameter bars plus i forget the stats but its solid i think it hold up to 900 lbs on the bench check it out I got it at the monopoly of superstores WALMART here a product link:

lol those were clips of my entire workouts I cutout all my chatter my dog came in because my wife opened my door wondering who i was talking to (I was talking to myself/camera) I cut out all the stuff I like narrated for my reference how i felt about the lift and what i felt about my stance and describing the weight so i knew what was what

I agree with adalos - you appear to be more on your toes, leaning forward too much - your back could be a little straighter also. But hold for the experts

Immediately notice a few things...
Keep your hands where they are... But put the bar much lower on your back. If your hands are close enough, this should push your chest out and allow the bar to rest comfortably on your upper back. Pull your shoulders back and down, create a ridge... This shouldn't feel to good when you first do it, and your arms should feel tight. Resist the urge to bring your hands wider unless you have to. You are breaking at the knees too soon. Stick your chest up high, belly out. Then, break at the hips sitting back, as though you are doing a good morning. Keep sitting back, back, back. Your knees will break when they need to. This will keep the weight on your heels. Sit on the bench, don't be afraid to break the cycle. -------------- Iron and chalk. |

As I watch further in the video it becomes apparent you have flexibity issues. Do some static stretching PWO and focus on your glutes, hamstrings, and adductors.
These are the 3 major issues I see. Fix these, and everything will start to come together. -------------- Iron and chalk. |

You could use a wider stance and lower bar placement as well adalos, although you aren't having problems with keeping your upper body in position. Can't tell much else by the video, but it appears as though you aren't sitting in between your legs enough. Widen your stance and push your knees out. will do. i just did squats the other day, so my legs are toast. i'll try and borrow my brother's video cam so the quality is better and i can put it on a tripod.

thanks wrestler figure video will help cuz hard to explain it I do have flexibility issues 12 yrs ago had my left mcl punctured and icl torn in a sports injury so they get gith awfully fast so I know its mental always in the back of my head about my old injury

speaking of squats, sorry if im weaving away from the original topic but i didnt think it was neccesary to start a whole new thread, is it bad to go all the way down when you squat? I've heard that going all the way down stretches your muscle out more, so youbuilt more muscle and the muscle is stronger. Is this true? Or should i stop at 90 degree's?

thank you so much! whenever i squat, i try my best every rep to have my thigh hit my calf or as close to it i can. i've had some good results and im the strongest squatter at my school and i go the lowest. i'll read up on more of your threads wrestler!

oh, i just thought of another question. is it alright for when i max out to slightly studder my feet a bit? i find i have more balance and more power and i feel safer when maxing out.

Do some mobility work before hand, losen up your adductors, hips, and hip flexors. Static stretch your hip flexors. This should fix that problem.-------------- Gravity hates you. Enter the Darkside. |
