The nutrition facts on this bread per slice is 40 calories, 1 gram of fat, 10 grams of carbs (5 of those are fiber grams) and 4 grams of Protein. I have 2 questions about this bread. One of them has to do with the carbohydrate information. I know that fiber has a negligible effect on blood sugar levels and all, but does that mean they don't count as calories? What I'm trying to say is that, if I eat 2 slices of bread, how much grams of carbohydrates do i count that as? Would it be only 10 grams of Carbs since The Fiber doesn't count? As for my second question, I see that it has a pretty good amount of protein for bread, is this bread a good source of protein, or is it one of them proteins that are not fully proteins? Thanks for the info.

We lack the enzymes necessary to digest unsoluble fiber, so therefore it has no caloric value and no effect on blood sugar. Therefore, in terms of "net" carbohydrates, one slice of bread has 5 grams.

Also, the protein in any type of non-animal product, except soy, is going to be an incomplete protein, including your bread.

Thanks a lot Deadheadted. That's pretty crazy that the bread only has 5 grams of net carbs.

I'm guessing those are some pretty small slices of bread - one of the first things bread manufacturers did when making "low carb" bread was reduce the portion size, usually 16-20%.

no actually, it's about a normal sized slice of bread. Not small at all. Pretty filling actually. You should try this bread, it's pretty good.

What else are they filling the bread up with then? It's only got 15 grams of macronutrients, that's about 2/3 of a normal slice of bread.

I don't know what they're filling it with, but it's not small at all.
