OK, what will give me more energy? I will be at the gym and will fall flat on my face energy wise..my workouts are lacking because I just dont have the energy to throw the weights like I should. I am decent for walking around the day energy..but if it involves anything that is more than keeping my feet moving..it lacks! Looking for something on the market that will help my workouts and my day-to-day life energywise, and suggestions?

Complex Carbs throughout the day, and simple carbs right before workout for some energy

Sounds like your not eating enough calories or a proper pre-workout meal. As was said above a good diet of clean foods will help with energy.

Provided your diet is in order here are some good supplements for energy Neurostim by Scivation great focus mental and energy product. Redline by VPX will give you energy but has alot of stimulants in it. IMHO it is one of the better energy/fat burners on the market and I really dont like VPX that much but I will give them a thumbs up on that product.

I don't know about those energy drinks when lacking the kind of energy cody is describing, his body is trying to tell him something and by providing a false supply of energy like that is pushing the body more adding more stress and will probably lead to more problems. There probably not bad if you just want a little extra boost sometimes but if your seriously lacking energy like that i think you need to correct your diet first then see if you still need that extra boost. I usually drink some coffee before a workout but not all the time just occasionally. just my .02. Plus i remember a while back where you were talking about your diet and if i remember correctly you weren't eating enough at all to support proper weight loss which leads me to believe you didn't change your diet which is why your feeling drained in the gym.

I have a clean diet with the proper amount of calories/water/rest. Just dont have as much energy as needed. People like to just throw out things like "eat more" but your body will tell you what is needed. I dont drink coffee or much soda, so lacking caffine maybe..not sure.
I found the diet requirements people said to be a crock, I cant consume as many calories as the "guide" says, my body doesnt take that many calories nicely..just wondered if anyone knew of any suppliments that gave you a kick..mental alertness and energy, but that doesnt really have a platau you hit. Thanks for any info.

Make sure your pre and post workout nutrition is good. both of these are essential, in different ways. Pre workout nutrition will of course help "fuel" your body, and your post workout nutrition will determine your recovery abilities, thus leading to more ability to perform in your next workout. Post workout nutrition is critical in so very many ways, and it becomes additive the longer you do not recover properly. You can get by with it for a while, but it will catch up to you in many ways, lack of advancement/gains, lack of energy, etc....

Im 6'4" 300lbs and around 26%bf(UGH!!) trying to get back to around 240. My calories vary from day to day, in order to shock my system sometimes. I consume the good stuff..oatmeal for breakfast, chicken breasts, Mahi Mahi and tuna, vegi's, lean meats..stay away from restraunts, caffine, and drink around a gallon of water a day. I lift pretty hard at the gym, it wears me out, and do the heavy bag here at home for cardio..its a butt whooper! Like I said, I just hit a wall..not just working out, somedays I have to take a nap and I will sleep 7-8 hours a night, when I have NEVER slept more than 6. I am 33, but my age isnt the issue I think, just running out of steam. Doc blames it on lower testostrone output..but I swear they blame everything on that! Just looking for an edge..be it adding something to my diet, a properly placed protien drink, more amino's..whatever! Thanks again for the help!!

Again, what is your post workout protocol?

You really need to figure your calories out and keep it consistent. What do you mean by shocking your system?..who reccomended that? Also it would be better if you figured out you p/c/f and listed exactly what you eat for each meal. I really think your problem is your diet especially like ron said post and pre workout meal being especially important.

Again, improper pwo nutrition will lead to lethargy. Your post workout nutrition will determine your recovery ability as well as influence your potential gains. When working out hard, if you do not recover properly, you cannot expect to be able to hit it hard again the next day and next, etc. This is the beginning of your nutritional program each day if you are a serious athlete, and directly carries over to your next training session. The end.

Pre-workout I eat oatmeal around an hour before the gym, juice, water..during workout its water or Gatorade, post workout is protien drink right away, drinking over 15-30 minutes. Usually within an hour of ending the workout I eat a whole food meal..grilled chic breast, brown rice, cottage cheese or something like that..post workout meal I try to keep equal carbs/protien. There are so many conflicting sites/thoughts out there as far as eating, I have been really just experimenting to see what works for me. This site says I need to consume 4500 calorries a day, and my body cant do it, I feel bloated and lathargic if I even try (and thats using 2 MRPs a day even). If I honestly need to eat that much (hopefully only on gym days) then I will try it for a week or so, but like I said usually it "weighs" me down. Thanks again for the help.

Cody-
Seems like your diet is not so far off although it could use some work. Have your doctor test your testosterone levels that very well could be a key indicator and if it is low it more than likely came from previous AAS cycles. Years ago when you used anabolic's what did you use, cycle lengths, and dosages? What did you do for your post cycle therapy or did you? Even if you are only taking in 3,000 calories per day you still shouldnt be feeling but so wiped out. I'm guilty myself of not taking in enough calories there have been days I've gone all day and drank only 2 protein shakes no carbs and then worked out but never felt that wiped out. I totally understand the issues and difficulties of eating 4-6 meals per day but the feeling of lethargy and bloatedness will go away after your body gets used to recieving the proper amount of calories and nutrients. Look back when you first learned you needed a gallon or so of water a day, My reaction was like there is no way I can drink that much water but after a few days and much bloating I became accustomed to a gallon of water a day and now I cant imagine going a day without it. It is the same way with eating 4-6 meals a day its a shock to your body, its telling you im not used to getting the proper nutrition but give it time your muscles will thank you. I know it sounds cheesy but in laymen terms thats the best way I can put it. IMHO I really believe low test levels are playing a role just because of your past steroid use. If you didnt PCT properly after your cycle ie(clomid, nolvadex)it is very possible your natural test levels did not return to normal.
my 2 cents
Keith

There is the possiblility of thyroid problems also. This little organ will cause a host of problems.

Longballer is also right on the head with your past AAS cycles. What did you do for PCT?

You may want to investigate some 6 oxo, this may help to kick start your test levels. Try 600 mg. per day, in divided doses twice, and slowly taper off. 200 in the morning, and 400 in the evening is a good protocol.

He showed me all the things test controll..from fat loss to ADD..its crazy. I appriciate the info, through a email I have a new route to try, so thanks for the help!!
