I have a treadmill and a weight machine that has latbar, bench with free weights, preacher curls, leg curls but i have no idea where to start. If any one out there can encourage me and help me get started that would be great.

You've come to the right place. Fill in your profile, get a workout routine based on your goals. Make a plan about eating - not a diet, but a plan to fuel your exercise and living needs. If possible, get someone to workout with you. Consider a trainer.

I started when I was almost 43 - dropped from 26% bodyfat to 10% and holding now for 4 years. I exercise 4-5 times a week and eat clean most of the time. It can be done. I am so much happier in this body.

You can do it.

burton, use one of the exercise plans you find here. Pick the beginner level. There are no pat weight amounts. You just have to experiment. The first 2 sets are generally warmup and the last sets should push your limits. On the last set you should just be able to complete the set. Increase weight as you progress throuhg the weeks. The buddy fit feature is a cool feature to research specific questions.
Hope this helps, Charlie
