Hi, I just recently joined and I need some help. My boyfriend and I go to the gym to workout, and he loses all the weight, but I don't. I don't even go down in dress size. I've changed my eating habits, but nothing seems to work.

I was just wondering if someone knew of a good meal plan that I could stick too? Something that tells me what meals to make during the day. I noticed that "freetrainer" has a place where you put your meals in and it tells you your calories, etc. But, it would be much easier if I had a plan to follow, since I don't have alot of time.

Could someone please help me?

For sound advice, recipes and 6 meal plans, try ordering Total Nutrition by Muscle & Fitness. Since diets really don't work, except for initial results, this provides a real eating lifestlye that works. Go to www.muscle-fitness.com to find the book and the cost is minimal.

Hello and welcome catherine-doyle. I have one question.. how long have you been at his new routine of yours? (if it is in fact new) Sometimes it might take a while for change to take place. In my case, I went a good 2 months before the pounds started flying off.. and muscles started shaping up. (and boy it took faith to get through that period) If your boyfriend is already losing lbs.. he might be blessed with a quicker motabolism than yourself. Hang in there and good luck!

Everybody is different so what might work for your boyfriend doesn't necessairly work for you.

Take a read around in the forums and you'll learn lots of great stuff.

Welcome and good luck!

Drio,
I started making a point of exercising three years ago. At first I would take a 45min brisk walk in the morning, and one at night with my dog. I did this for about 5 months. When I started back to work my routine got screwed up and I took a break of 2 months. I then bought a elipical trainer, so I could exercise when I got home from work. I first started going 20mins a day working up to 30-45mins. When summer came around I started going to the gym. Sometimes I would go twice a day. Once in the morning and one at night. I've been going to the gym for almost 2 years. I've changed my eating habits, for the healthier, because I know there's no sense of killing yourself in the gym if you don't change your food. My boyfriend doesn't workout as hard as me, and he loses the weight and I don't. Since I've started working out I haven't lost any weight or gotten smaller. I becaome fustrated and discourged and sometimes I wonder what's the point, but I don't give up. I even make a point of making sure my heart is in it's target range.

I thank all of you for your input, and encouragement. Good luck to you all.

Sorry Catherine-doyle.. didn't see your reply till just now. Well if you've been at your routine for that long.. with little/no results.. it's definitly time for a change of plans! I would take a look into your eating. You may have a harder time with carbs than your boyfriend. (as my ex did) Check out the nutrition tracker on this site and try it out. I'm really taking shots in the dark and may be completely off though. I hope you do find something here that can help you out.
