Hey guys, my name is Dot. I'm 16, 5'9, and 196 lbs. I'm going with my boyfriend to senior prom this year, and I want to look my best. Majority of my fat is around my midsection, and some on my thighs. My goal is to lose 30 lbs. Only problem is that I have about 2 months (or less) to do so. Help! :(

Hey Dot, welcome to FT. 30lbs in 2 months is a bit unrealistic. Typically one looses 1-2lbs /week-safely. If you start working out now (like today!) and get your diet in order (no soda, no junk food, 5-7 small healthy meals/day) you can probably drop about 20lb. 20lb will make a huge difference in your appearance, especially if your working out (cardio + resistance training). So get to it and don't focus on the numbers, focus on the job at hand! If you keep it up after the prom, you'll be looking phenominal by summer time! Good luck and have fun at your prom!
-------------- Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

I agree with fly. If you a really motivated enough to make a lifestyle change you can look great. Dont worry about what the scale says, start working out with weights and cardio and you can get great diet tips on this site. :)

Check out the exercise programs on this site. I'd choose the 8week weight loss and definition program and do the wts 2-3X per week. On the off days, do some cardio (running, cycling, swimming, whatever) and take 1 full day of rest. So each week do 2-3 day wts + 3-4 days cardio + 1 day rest. Although you don't care too much about the weight, diet is key as well, so get your diet in order and eat healthy! Check out the "grocery list for healthy eating" in the nutrition forum-it's thumbtacked near the top of the forum and choose your foods from this list.
If you follow the workouts and get your diet in order you will look awesome for your prom! Good Luck!
