hi everyone i just finish playing lacrosse and i want to bulk up in time for football. im 17 and weigh 192lb and in good shaoe. Practice starts around august and i want to be as big as possible by then. i am able to use the weight room after school and can only use it on mondays, wedsndays and fridays. i also might be able to join a sport club later on if i can afford it. well i wanted to ask if the free workout program provided here could help me achive the result i wanted in that time. i choose to do the 5 day workout plan and almost all the special ft programs. i have access to free weights and machines and would like to start next week. i want to start next week. i was wondering what else i could do at home after the gym (ie push ups,sit ups,lunges..) and what would be an apropreate number to do. i have never lifted weights and this would be my first time. also i want to know if high set/low rep is better over low set/high rep(ie 5 sets of 5 vs 3 sets of 10). i was also wondering about protein and creatine are the best option for me or should i forget them.also how much rest should i have each night to let my muscles recover? i want to get more muscle then fat and i want do know what and how much cardio i could do to help me get my goal. any imput would greatly be appreciated and i would also like to say that i will post up any more question that come to mind later on. thanks alot

oscar

Well 1st off, your an athlete you need to train like an athlete, and eat like an athlete.
I would suggest you work out 3 days a week mon, wed and friday. Then on 2 of the toher days, run, run sprints, stairs jump rope whatever, and do abbs at home. so you keep your speed for your sport and maintain a stong mid section. Teh onthe day rest, don't do anything but lay around and rest a lil bit. Pick a split......
i like
chest back
shoulders biceps
legs triceps

or you can do
chest, arms
legs
shoulders, back

But thats your choice, do whatever you feel, you no more about lacross than I do, lacross is not played much where I am.

As for food and supplements. Creatine is fine research it on here and find out what it is and howmuch to take. AS for food i would say eat you body weight in grams of protein, and eat good complex healthy carbs for engery.

Don't try to pack weight on too much, you'll just gett fatter and slower....sports is abotu being fast that your appoinent most of the time, focaus on that and being strong for your sport.
