Hi everyone, ok first of all let me say this is a great site! I have some questions, currently I am trying to persue a career as a fitness model, but unfortunatly I was told that I was too young ~22~ (because my skin hadn't thinned yet) but I am still trying anyways. One negative here is that lack of this "sport" where I live; I have been trying to slowly get closer to my goals over the last 2 years, but it seems no matter what I do lately nothing is working... it's either that or excruciatingly slow, so does anyone have suggestions on calories per day, and the amount of cardio?

Calories depends on your weight and activity level. Cardio can be figured very easily.....
the formula to find your max Heart rate is this: 220-your age(22)=your max heart rate (198). If you are fit, keep it at 75-85% for at least 10 min. That is just an example. Its best to do 30 min with a warm up and cool down. Any form of cardio is good, but if you are looking to burn maximum calories, elipticle trainer or rowing is best. I never heard of skin not being thin enough. But one has to be very lean to be a fitness model, no matter the age. -------------- "A will finds a way, failure is not an option" Ivan carivan@freetrainers.com Montreal Canada |

:dumbbell: Hi everyone! Ok well right now I am about 5'8 and 160 lbs. I have 26% B.F. ~ so I have about 120lbs of LBM ~I did get up to 130 LBM ~ but lost it in the military... ok well this is my schedule right now... During the week I eat between 1300-2000 kcal, and 2000 or so on the weekends, I weight train for 2 hours M-F,(two body parts per day) and usually about 2 hours of Cardio (spread throughout the day) M-F (I'm trying to be more consistant), with total rest on the weekends. I eat only all natural organic foods so I eat very clean, (even my "treats") and usually about 130-170 grams of protein a day. Currently I use only Maxpro Protein and glutamine. I have had similar eating habits for the last 4 months, but just 2 weeks ago I got my gym membership and upped my Cardio. I haven't really seen any changes since I left the military ~4 months~ so does anyone have any suggestions?? I need to really drop my bodyfat first.

Cut your cardio down to an hour max and incraese the amount of weight you are lifting.
Read bbfits post on cardio. Too much cardio is counterproductive. Even if you are eating organic foods, you may not be eating an ideal diet for fat loss. Give us a typical day's menu... -------------- "Achieving worthwhile goals requires a consistent investment of time and effort on your part....The rewards you receive will be in direct proportion to the consistent effort you put forth." :dumbbell: Hi, so as my cardio goes I usually ride my bike to the gym- 30 mins. run 1 or 2 miles everyday, ride my bike home... And on days I don't ride my bike I swim.
I try to vary my diet at least a little ~so I don't go crazy~ But here is a "typical" day... Breakfast; Pro shake w/glutamine - made with 8oz skim milk - 200kcal One organic blueberry waffle w/organic pnutbtr - 200k Snack; 1/4 c almonds or mixed nuts - unsalted - 175kcal Lunch; 1/2 - 1 cup brown rice- 75-150kcal 4-6oz chicken breast - 200kcal 1/2 cup sauce - 50-100kcal Snack; usually 1 serving of organic unsalted tortilla chips with hummus, or organic potato chips & 2tbl lite sour cream or 1oz organic dark chocolate with 8oz skim milk (or) Dinner; lately about 6 oz of steak, 1/2 cup mashed potatoes, and either broccoli or squash, with 8oz of milk... I usually end up drinking about 3/4 - 1 gallon of water everyday... |
