Every single morning since I don't know when, I'm having the same breakfast meal.......: whole grained oats, soy milk and vanilla protein powder (and some cinnamon!). It's easy, cheap, good proteins and works perfect in my daily calorie and food intake (it got 415 calories, 15 gr of proteins, 35 gr of carbs and 5 gr of fat)
Anyway, last week we received a huuuge tube of STRAWBERRY protein powder...... AND for a couple of mornings I have been wondering how my dear oats would taste using the strawberry flavoured powder instead of vanilla. Hmmmm I did the experience (I left out the cinnamon though!) this morning and, 1) my oats are all red and lol 2) IT'S ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!
Okey, I had to try it (I need to try to know rite?!!) But guys and gals a personal advice from me: doooooooon't mix strawberry protein powder with your oats!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol!! Did you know they add beet powder for the coloring in the strawberry stuff? Not that anything is wrong with beet powder. Thanks for the warning.

Thanks for the warning...will avoid strawberry! I do put real strawberries in my oatmeal though. Buy the frozen ones, put 4 in a bowl while the oatmeal is cooking, and then when it is done, just spoon the hot oats over the frozen strawberries, and in a couple minutes they are thawed pretty much. Put cinnamon on top, pretty tasty. Have my protein powder on the side! LOL...

Oh, and for everyone that reads this thread that doesn't already know, put the protein powder in the oatmeal AFTER you cook it (if you nuke it). The first time I made protein oats I dumped in the oats, then the powder and then the milk and nuked it. The protein formed a rubbery solid - not something I have repeated since.
