Hi guys.. About 4 days ago I started watching what I've been eating, cutting out calories and fat. I even dropped the dreaded coke, and traded it in for the liquid of life, water. I've also been walking. I hadnt realized how out of shape I really was. After four laps around my block, I was feeling it. I also started doing any random exercise I knew how. I have limited cash flow, so gym membership is not something that I can do. So, I got on my trusty little computer, and searched for website that offered free training. And it brought me here. I must say that after less than an hour, I am quite impressed. And hopefully, I can reach my goal in the time I want it reached with the help of this site, and you guys. I am 18, almost 5'9", and around abouts 180 pounds. I've always had a large bone frame, but its become ridiculous. I want to be happy with myself again. I cant remember when I ever was. My ultimate goal is to get down to 135. But I'd settle for 140. And I would absolutely love to reach that goal in 8 weeks. But I dont want to be unreasonable. Its just, my birthday is in 2 months, and it would be awesome to give myself the present of fitness.

My question to you all... how do you do it?

Congradulations, and good luck on reaching your goals. You are definetly on the right track, by cutting out the cokes and lowering your calories.

Howdy from a fellow Arizonan! This website is great and will hopefully answer all your questions. 40 pounds in 8 weeks is extremely unreasonable and dangerous. I hope you read some of the posts and see, like I did, that weight loss isn't as important as making a good nutrition and exercise program part of your life. The first step, if you haven't already done it, is to use the ft outlines. They will lay out your caloric needs and a basic exercise program diesigned for your goals and needs. Good luck!
