Hi! I am a new member and am seeking some advice. I have started a workout routine (My aunt and I started together) consisting of about 30 minutes of cardio to start with, followed by a 30 minuting sculpting workout, and a walk. On Mondays, Weds, and Fridays I add an additional ab workout filled with various forms of crunches/sit-ups. On Tues and Thursday I add an additional legs/arm workout consisting of squats, lunges, and various arm presses with light weights (2 lbs). On the weekend I just do simple activity outside, weather permitting, such as bad mitten, jumping on the trampoline, bike riding, etc. I am 22 years old. 5' 4" and 260 lbs. My aunt is 26, 5' 6 1/2" and is 252 lbs. We are wanting to burn fat, shed the weight, and build longer, leaner muscles. If anyone has any advice, Maybe something we haven't thought of, We would greatly appreciate the input. I look forward to hearing some great tips!!

Welcome and congrats on turning the lifestyle around. What are you doing about your diet? It is important that you get the right nutrition while doing these activities. I would suggest resting your body on the weekends as your muscles need to recuperate. If I understand correctly you are working out five days a week.

I am diabetic so my diet is fairly controlled. I have been working on portions and keeping the bad fat out of my diet. I'm just shocked that this website told me to eat 3000 calories a day, that seems absurd to me.

Thanks for the welcome!

The calorie recommendations are going by your existing wait thinking one wants to maintain. But they are still kind of high and have been out of sync for a while.
