Hey all,

My name is Katherine, and I am 18 years old... I joined so that I can lose weight (I have at least 125 lbs to lose. I am medically obese and am borderline-diabetic) and tone up. My ultimate goal is to join my county's Sheriff's Academy by Summer 2011.

I have tried all my life to lose the weight. Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, counting calories and fat, protein rich carb-low diets, etc. What I have come to realize is that I can change how I eat all I want, but if I don't exercise, it is a huge waste of my time and money.

I am not very good at following self-made plans, so I searched google for premade ones. That is when I found this site. I am very pleased to see the premade workout plans, and nutrition information. I am sure it will be helpful.

Hopefully my pics will be approved soon so you can see me now... I will be posting pics of my progress every few weeks.

I am currently 316 pounds. My goal is to get down to at least 180 by the end of 2010, and 165 by the time I apply for the academy. I want to be able to run- God, I haven't actually run since freshman year in high school, and that was hardly a run. I don't have joint issues yet, but I want to avoid them. I want to be a police officer. I want to feel like myself, as I have never felt comfortable in my own body. I have been overweight since 1st grade- I was in a high stress acheivment curriculum in elementary school, and ate to make up for the stress. I need to rehab myself, and I have no money to spare for medical help, treatment programs, or other such things.

So here I am. All support and guidance is most definitely welcomed and appreciated. :)

Hi Katherine. My name is Kristi. I am 31 and just had my 3rd daughter. I have never had trouble with my weight until the year before I got pregnant with my last daughter and now I can't seem to lose the weight. I always played sports before, and was a medic in the army once upon a time, so I do have experience in exercise and healthy living. I guess I am just out of practice. Maybe we can go on this journey together. I would like a support buddy to stay motivated with. This is my first week getting started. Good luck in your week.:)

Sounds good! I didn't do so well this first week, but I am committed and will be setting my routine this week, and nothing will stop me :D

Hope all goes well for you.
